Map Tiles

Map tiles represent the land that the Heroes are exploring.

Each tile consists of seven hexagonal spaces. Before the game, the Map tiles should be separated by their reverse sides:

Starting Tile (two-sided)

The starting tile is two sided. Each side displays a magic portal and a coastline - the coastline is different on each side, and defines the shape of the map for a given game.

Solonauts

This is a solitaire game in which the challenge is to get eight Chrononauts home on a single pass through the deck. It's a great way to learn the ins and outs the TimeLine when you don't have any opponents on hand for a full game.

Number of Players: one.


Setup

Remove and set aside all the Artifacts, Gadgets, Actions, Timewarps, and Missions. Shuffle the Patches and Inverters together, and set up the TimeLine as usual.

Then deal out eight random ID cards, and arrange them face-up underneath the TimeLine. Finally, deal out five cards from the reduced play deck, and line them up under the characters. …


All Action cards have a similar design. On each card, there is a:

  • Card type (in the upper left corner)
  • Card name
  • Hero symbol (top right) to see which Hero it belongs to.
  • Picture
  • Basic effect (the text directly under the picture)
  • Stronger effect (the colored gem between the basic and the stronger effect - note the entire card is toned to that color, and whenever a card or effect relates to "Action card color", this is the color being referred to).

For example, if you correctly predict the result of mixing toad and scorpion and then correctly predict the result of mixing toad and fern, you get 3 points because you used 3 different ingredients.

Special case: If you also have the Magic Mortar, a colleague will randomly choose 1 card to be set aside for Feather in Cap and the other will be returned to your hand. Advanced Game

Once players get familiar with the game, you can agree to use the B-sides of the factory boards. During set-up, first determine player order.

Then, starting with the last player and proceeding in reverse player order, each player in turn picks one factory board and places it in front of themselves with the B-side facing up. Each factory provides its owner a special power:

Dawn And Dusk

During the hunter phase, dawn occurs before day and dusk occurs before night. During dawn and dusk, players advance time and then fight Dracula if he is revealed.

The time track has both day and night spaces. At dawn, the time marker advances from a night space to a day space, and at dusk, the time marker advances from a day space to a night space. Each day and night space has an abbreviation for a day of the week. …
