Q: I ended a turn on 26. That has some red in it. Do I still get a card?

A: No. Only take a card if you land on a circle that is entirely red, like 29.

Q: Can I apply a card to either pawn?

A: If it's a Keeper card, yes. Otherwise, Action cards apply to the pawn that is on the prime number. If both pawns are on red circles, then you may choose which pawn the card applies to. …

Mankind has long been confined to travel by land and sea, but a new technology has emerged from the greatest minds in Eastern Europa: airships. These steam-driven behemoths sail freely across the sky, aiding their empire's expansion through innovation and confrontation.

As the years pass, the world has come to understand that no single faction will rise above the rest for any span of time. In the hopes of decreasing the conflict and increasing the peace, leaders of Europa begin to gather each year to declare a new way for the factions to resolve their differences. …

Troyes is a strategy game in which you represent a rich family from the Champagne region of France, using your infl uence to recruit and supervise individuals from the three prominent domains: military (associated with the color red in every aspect of the game), religious (white), and civil (yellow).

Each domain offers different benefits: The military permits you to fight with greater efficacy against invasions. The clergy focuses on completion of the cathedral, and education of the peasants and the military. The peasants toil to fill your coffers. …

Your choice of strategies will influence your game play. The separation of strategies below is a bit artificial, but useful to understand the concepts behind them. In practice, players will use a combination of these strategies.

Increase production early

One rule of thumb for successful play is to increase production early. The expansion of resource production early in the game allows players to expand capabilities more easily later on.

Once a good production base has been established, the player can pursue other aspects of the game, such as building the longest road or acquiring ports. Failure to expand early on can severely cripple a player. …

These are rules for 5-6 experienced Monsters.

In a 5- or 6-player game, there can be two Monsters in Manhattan.

The rules are the same for these two Monsters. Having one additional place for the Monsters is quite significant when you have so many Monsters stomping about.

  • When a card or an effect targets the Monster in Manhattan, it affects all Monsters in Manhattan.

  • If Manhattan has fewer than two Monsters during your move step, you must move into Manhattan.

  • Just as in the normal game, only the very first Monster on the very first turn is unable to inflict any damage. If Manhattan is only occupied by one Monster, the attacking Monster deals damage to the Monster in Manhattan, and then must move into Manhattan, too. …

This section includes additional rules not previously discussed, including skill tests, cards, features, monsters, and puzzles.

Damage & Horror

Many game effects cause investigators to suffer Damage or Horror. When an effect causes an investigator to suffer Damage or Horror, he draws the top card of the Damage or Horror deck, respectively. He claims the card faceup unless the effect specifies otherwise.

Each Damage or Horror card has one of two traits-Resolve Immediately or Keep Faceup. When an investigator claims a faceup Damage or Horror with the Resolve Immediately trait, he immediately resolves its effect which usually includes flipping the card facedown. A Damage or Horror with the Keep Faceup trait, will have a lasting effect for as long as the card remains faceup. …

The idea behind the game is to offer a shared central framework for an entire range of adventures. Once you've learned these general rules, you will be ready to handle a new scenario and begin a new adventure without any issues.

Roleplaying Game or Boardgame

Neither one or the other - or rather both! Our first desire was to capture the feeling of the roleplaying games of our youth, but in a more compact and less time-consuming format as the era of self-contained campaigns in bomb shelters is unfortunately over ... …

Action Cards - Stack 1

All Stack 1 Cards:

You may place up to 1 Caballero from your Court into a region neighboring the King's region or into the Castillo.

Before or after doing so, you may execute or forfeit the special action printed on the Action card. The cards in this stack allow players to move their own / foreign Caballeros.

Any card indicating that you may "move" Caballeros must be executed according to the following rules:

  • You may move Caballeros from and to one or multiple regions, for example take 2 Caballeros from one region, and 1 from another (exceptions are listed below).
  • You may not take Caballeros from the Castillo or a player's Court.
  • You may move fewer Caballeros than the number printed on the card.
  • You are not restricted to those regions neighboring the King's region. You may move Caballeros to any region (except the King's region) or into the Castillo.
  • The King's region is taboo! You may never move a Caballero from or to the King's region (there are no exceptions).

The stack 1 cards are as follows: …

This expansion is not a complete game, but must be played with Princes of Florence.

We think it will appeal to those who are experiences with the basic game and want more from the game. We do not recommend players try the expansion until they have played the basic game.

The expansion adds 6 special character cards which players can bid on in a second part of the auction phase. Thus, the auction phase has been split into two phases: the original auction phase and special character auction. …
