Object of the Game

Be the player with the most Pound Notes and wellies on the board when someone runs out of money.

Setup

  1. Open the gameboard and put the center of the table.

  2. Place the cards showing Peppa's friends on the board, on the correct spaces.

  3. Shuffle the Miss Rabbit's Surprises cards and place them on the correct space in the center of the board.

  4. Assemble the Mr Fox's Van box (see back page for assembly) and place it on its space on the board.

  5. Deal Pound Notes:

    • For 2 players: 18 each
    • For 3-4 players: 14 each
  6. Each choose a Peppa Pig Car and place it on GO!

  7. Each choose the eight wellies that match your car and keep them in front of you.

  8. Choose one player to be the Bank Manager (adults are good at this). It's up to the Bank Manager to look after the Pound Notes that go in and out of the bank. The values on the board are in coins, but you will be playing with Pound Notes.

  9. Who goes first? Take turns to roll the dice - if you roll highest, you go first!

Game Play

  1. Roll the die and move your Car Token that number of spaces clockwise from GO.

  2. Where did you land? See 'The Spaces' section below for what to do on that space. Once you've followed the instructions for that space, it's the next player's turn.

  3. Keep going! Keep taking turns to roll and move around the board until someone runs out of money.

  4. Bankrupt? If you don't have enough money to pay in full, your visits are over! You can't pay any money and the game ends.

End of the Game

When someone runs out of money the game ends. Count your money. Add 1 note for each friend you have visited and left a wellie at. If you have the most notes, you win!

The Spaces

Friend with No Wellies

When you land on a friend with no wellies, that no one owns, you buy it and leave your wellies there.

  • Take the Friend card from the board and pay the Bank Manager the number of Pound Notes written on it, and keep the card in front of you.
  • Put one of your wellies on the colored space at the top of the square so everyone knows you have visited them.

Friend with Some Wellies

When you land on a friend's house with some wellies, you must pay the amount of money shown on the space to that player. If you land on a space with your own wellies, do nothing!

Go

Every time you pass GO, collect 2 Pound notes from the Bank Manager.

Miss Rabbit's Surprises Cards

Take the top card, read it out, and follow the instructions. If you have to pay money, place the pound notes in Mr. Fox's Van. Return the used card to the bottom of the pile.

Mr. Fox's Van

Well done! If you land on this space, you can open Mr Fox's Van in the middle of the board and keep any money inside! Close the van and put it back when you are done.

A Drive in the Country!:

You're not stuck in traffic, you're having a lovely drive.

Free Parking:

Do nothing.

Go to Traffic Jam!:

Move your car to the Traffic Jam and on your next turn, pay a Pound Note to the Bank Manager before you roll and move as usual.

Run out of Wellies?

If you run out of wellies, you cannot visit (buy) any more friends until you give up one of your other visits first.

Give the Bank Manager Pound Notes for your new friend, then return the card you're giving up to its space and move your wellies to your new friend. You do not get your money back though!

Rules for Older Players

To try a slightly more challenging game, try these extra rules...

  1. Peppa Pairs

If you have two friends of the same color, ask for double money when anyone lands on them

  2. Swap!

The game doesn't have to end when someone runs out of wellies. Exchange visits with other players for Pound Notes if you run out. When you exchange (it's a bit like selling) make sure you swap wellies too!

  3. Win!

When the game ends, count your money and then add the value of each visit to your score, if you have the most Pound Notes, you win!
