In Monopoly: Deadpool Edition (longer and stronger than ever), build your own team of Mercs for Money as you purchase the contracts of the world's best mercenaries.

Some of them are Deadpool's allies, some are Deadpools from alternate universes, and at least one is just Deadpool in a fancy little maid outfit. When other players land on your mercs, they gotta pay you a fee.

Wheel and deal, buy vehicles like a chimichanga truck, and steal your friends' stuff with the cheap shot and low blow spaces.

Deadpool meets the classic game of MONOPOLY-like peanut butter and fried trout, it's a perfect match.

Components

  • Gameboard
  • 6 Tokens
  • 26 Contract Cards
  • 16 Dumb Luck Cards
  • 16 Pouches Cards
  • 32 Headquarters
  • 12 D-Mansions
  • 2 Dice
  • Money Pack
  • Instructions

Setup

  1. Choose someone to read these rules out loud to all players. Wild guess: it's the person reading them now.

  2. Give each player:

(Total=M1500) Keep the rest of the money in the box as the Bank.

  3. Shuffle the Pouches cards and place them facedown on the game board.

  4. Shuffle the Dumb Luck cards and place them facedown on the game board.

  5. Choose someone to be the Evil Heartless Banker.

The Evil Heartless Banker's in charge of:

    • The Bank's money
    • Headquarters
    • D-Mansions
    • Contract cards
    • Auctions
    • Kicking little old ladies out of their houses (j/k only in real life)

The Evil Heartless Banker can play too, but must keep their money separate from the Bank.

  6. Fight over who gets to use the taco token. Then, each remaining player chooses a non-taco token, and everyone places their tokens on GO.

  7. Put the dice by the gameboard. Not in the refrigerator or in your fanny pack, which is a common mistake.

Object of the Game

Move around the board hiring as many Mercenaries and buying as many Sweet Rides as you can. The more you own, the more cash you'll get.

If you're the last player with any money when all other players have gone bankrupt, you win!

(And yet, you still feel so empty inside).

Game Play

Each player rolls both dice. The highest roller starts, and play moves to the left.

On your turn:

  1. Roll both dice.

Move forward that number of spaces.

  2. Where did you land? Check THE BOARD SPACES section of this guide.

Did you roll a double? Then roll the dice again, you #$%&ing dice hog, and take another turn.

Watch out! If you roll a double 3 times in a row, you must Go To Jail!

  3. Your turn is over. The player on your left goes next.

The Board Spaces

Mercenaries

Unhired Mercenaries

When you land on a Mercenary that no one has hired, either buy their contract or auction it.

Want the Mercenary on your team?

Pay the price on the board space and take the Mercenary's Contract card.

Don't want to hire the mercenary?

Then the Evil Heartless Banker must auction their contract. Bids start at M1C All players can bid.

Hired Mercenaries

When you land on a Mercenary that someone else has hired, pay that player the rent shown on the Mercenary's Contract card.

Collect Color Sets to Build Headquarters!

You can't build Headquarters until you complete a color set of Mercenaries!

  • Rent goes up on each Mercenary as soon as you complete the color set.
  • If you buy Headquarters, rent goes up even more!
  • You can also upgrade to D-Mansions!

Watch out! The player that owns the contract must ask you for rent before the next player rolls the dice. If they don't ask, you don't gotta pay!

Sweet Rides

Unowned Sweet Rides

When you land on a Sweet Ride that no one owns, either buy it or auction it.

Want to Buy It?

Pay the price on the board space and take the Contract card.

Don't Want to Buy It?

Then the Evil Heartless Banker must auction it. Bids start at M10. All players can bid.

Owned Sweet Rides

When you land on a Sweet Ride that someone else owns, pay them rent. Rent depends on how many Sweet Rides the owner has.

Sweet Rides Rent

Action Spaces

Cheap Shot

When you land on the Cheap Shot space, take M100 from the player with the least amount of money (besides yourself).

If there's a tie, take it from whichever tied player you want.

Low Blow

When you land on the Low Blow space, steal any Mercenary or Sweet Ride from any other player.

Go

If your move took you onto or past the GO space, collect M200 from the Bank.

Dumb Luck / Pouches

Take the top card from the matching pile and immediately do what it says. Return it to the bottom of the pile when done.

Pay the Pool

Put the amount of money listed on the space into the dead pool in the middle of the board.

Free Parking

If you land here by exact count, instantly collect all the sweet, sweet cash in the dead pool in the middle of the board.

Just Visiting

Don't worry. If you land here, just put your token in the Just Visiting section. All your friends in Jail will be so happy to see you.

Go to Jail

Move your token to the In Jail space immediately. Do not collect M200 for passing GO. Your turn is then over.

You can still collect rent, auction, buy Headquarters and D-Mansions, put things out-of-commission, and trade while you are In Jail.

How do I get out of Jail?

You have 3 options:

  1. Pay M50 at the start of your next turn, then roll and move as normal.

  2. Use a Get Out of Jail Free card at the start of your next turn if you have one (or buy one from another player). Put the card at the bottom of the pile, then roll and move.

  3. Roll a double on your next turn. If you do, you're free! Use the roll to move. You can use up to 3 turns to try for a double. If you don't throw a double by your third turn in Jail, pay M50 and use your last roll to move.

Buildings

Building Headquarters

As soon as you get a color set of Mercenaries, you can start building Headquarters (you don't have to wait for your turn).

Pay the Bank the cost price on the Contract card and place a Headquarters on the Mercenary.

Build evenly. You cannot build a second Headquarters on a Mercenary until you've built one on each Mercenary in the set. You can only have 4 Headquarters on a Mercenary.

Building D-mansions

Once you have 4 Headquarters on all Mercenaries in a complete color set, you can pay to upgrade to a D-Mansion. Your dream of creating a Wilson's School for Gifted Mercenaries has come true!

Pay the D-Mansion cost price on the Contract card, return all 4 Headquarters to the Bank, and put a D-Mansion on the Mercenary.

You can only have 1 D-Mansion per Mercenary. You can't add any more Headquarters.

You cannot build on a Mercenary if any Mercenary in its color set is out-of-commission.

Not enough buildings?

If multiple players want the last Headquarters or D-Mansion, the Evil Heartless Banker must auction it. Bids start at M10.

No buildings left?

You can't buy any until someone sells theirs back.

Auctions

If you land on a Mercenary or Sweet Ride and you don't want to buy the contract, the Evil Heartless Banker must auction it.

  1. The Evil Heartless Banker starts the auction by offering the contract to everyone for M10.

  2. Anyone can increase the bid by as little as M1 (even the Evil Heartless Banker and the player who originally landed on the space).

  3. The highest bidder wins the auction, pays the Bank, and takes the Contract card.

What if no one wants it?

That's fine. No one pays anything.

Deals & Trades

You can buy, sell, or swap Mercenaries and Sweet Rides with other players at any time.

You must sell all buildings on a color set to the Bank before you can sell or trade a Mercenary's contract. You cannot sell (or trade) buildings to another player.

Mercenaries and Sweet Rides can be traded for cash, other Mercenaries and/or Sweet Rides, and/or Get Out of Jail Free cards. The amount is decided by the players making the deal. Out-of-commission Mercenaries or Sweet Rides can be traded at any agreed price.

The new owner must immediately either:

  • Put it back in commission by paying the Bank the back-in-commission cost.
  • Or keep it out-of-commission (just pay the Bank 10% of the out-of-commission value now).

Help! I Can't Pay

  1. Try to Raise Money.

If you owe money and can't pay, try to raise money by selling buildings and/or putting things out-of-commission.

    Selling Buildings

Sell D-Mansions to the Bank for half the cost price and exchange them immediately for 4 Headquarters. Sell Headquarters to the Bank for half the cost price. Headquarters must be sold evenly across the color set.

    Putting Things Out-of-commission

To put a Mercenary out-of-commission, you must first sell all buildings in its color set to the Bank at half their cost price.

To put something out-of-commission, turn the Contract card facedown and collect the out-of- commission value on the back from the Bank.

To put something back in commission, pay the back-in-commission cost to the Bank (out-of-commission value +10%), then turn the card faceup.

Rent cannot be collected on Mercenaries or Sweet Rides that are out-of-commission.

However, the increased rent level can be collected on the still-in-commission Mercenaries in a color set, even if one or more of the other Mercenaries are out-of-commission. (Is anyone still reading this? Is this English? Am I alive? Is this all a simulation?)

The increased rent on still-in-commission Sweet Rides may be collected in the same way.

  2. If you're still in debt, you are bankrupt and out of the game. You must now watch all of your friends continue to play, and ponder the mistakes you've made.

    Do you owe another player?

Give them any Get Out of Jail Free cards and all your out-of-commission Mercenaries and/or Sweet Rides.

The new owner must immediately either:

    • Put it back in commission by paying the Bank the back-in-commission cost.
    • Or keep it out-of-commission (just pay the Bank 10% of the out-of-commission value now).

    Do you owe the Bank?

Return all of your Mercenaries and Sweet Rides to the Bank.

All of your Mercenaries and Sweet Rides must immediately be put up for auction. If any of them were out-of-commission, they are now automatically back-in-commission.

Return any Get Out of Jail Free cards to the bottom of the pile.

The remaining players keep playing until there is only one person left in the game. This player is the winner, rich as all get out, and the mastermind behind the greatest Mercs for Money team in history!
