One needs Influence in order to be accepted into the higher circles of the Crown. Influence is the best way, and sometimes the only way, to gain access to the Nobles and their benefits.

Gaining Influence

When you gain Influence, you always earn the total Influence depicted at the tops of the Noble and Ship cards in your Portfolio (i.e. on the cards in the top row). You indicate this by moving your Influence marker rightward on the Influence track. …

Other Variations

Greedy Dwarf

If good dwarves reach the treasure, only those dwarves who have unbroken equipment can share in the treasure cards. We ALWAYS use this variant to spice things up. In this way, there is also a competition among the gold diggers.

Middle Treasure

The middle treasure is placed 1 space further away from the start space (8 away instead of 7), not only making it take longer to reach it, but also making it two spaces away from the treasure spaces on each side. …

In 'Steel Driver' each player represents an investment broker, handling massive capital sums that were available to be invested in the nascent American railway.

There are two forms of 'money' within the game. Large capital sums are represented by white investment cubes. Profits are paid in cash, represented by paper money. It helps to equate cash to victory points; you cannot re-invest cash as it is too small a proportion of the investment cubes to make much difference.

The game lasts for five turns. At the end of five turns a special phase is carried out, where the final company values are determined. The winner is the player with the most cash, which will be earned from investing in the best rail networks. …

A: Yes! You can attack multiple enemy ships with one flip.

Q: I landed on two different enemy cards with one ship, and both of them require two hits to destroy. What do I do with my ship?

When a player plays a summer or winter visitor card, the action described on the card is taken immediately and the card is discarded, ending any bonuses granted by that card.

Visitor cards are played by placing a worker on the play summer/winter visitor card action spaces. No additional worker is required to take the action described on the card.

You may only play a visitor card if you are able to fully resolve the effect on the card. For example, if a card says that you must give all opponents each to gain a benefit, you can only play that card if you have enough lira to pay to all other players. Multiple actions on visitor cards may be taken in any order. …
