Setup

In a game with 3 or 4 players, remove 2 tiles of each color from the game and replace them with the 10 joker tiles.

In a game with 2 players, remove 1 tile of each color from the game and replace them with 5 joker tiles.

On your turn, when you must pick tiles, you can pick all joker tiles from any one Factory display OR the center of the table. If you do, in addition, you may then also pick all tiles of one other color from the same location (if possible). …


Deep below the shimmering surface of the Pearlbrook River, a mysterious civilization of waterfolk are waiting. You will be sending your amphibious Ambassador on diplomatic journeys to trade information and resources with the river dwellers.

In exchange, you will be gathering a new and valuable resource: pearls. Collect enough pearls and you can construct fabulous Wonders and Adornments, to make your city the pride of Everdell!

You will begin the game with a frog Ambassador, which you can use to visit one of the 4 River Destinations on the River board. Before visiting, your city will need to contain the listed requirements for that location. El Capitan - Expansion Rules

If you have played El Capitan a couple of times using the standard game board you may want to try it adding the extra city tiles. It is recommended to use only one of the three additional city tiles when you start playing with these.

Experienced El Capitan players however may use two or even all three additional cities, when playing with four or five players.

During a survivor's turn, that player can perform any number of actions. Each time a survivor performs an action, reduce that player's stamina dial by one (or more, if the action costs more than one stamina).

A survivor can perform the same action multiple times during the same turn, but cannot perform an action if he or she does not have enough stamina to pay its cost.

Survivors keep any unspent stamina for the next day. When a survivor is taking a turn, that player is the Current survivor and is the only survivor that can perform actions. …
