You need the game pieces and cards of the board game "Settlers of Catan" to colonize Corsica. Basically the rules of the board game also apply to this scenario with the following exceptions.

Construction of settlements

Settlements may be established or built only on the round local fields.

Road Construction

Roads may be built only on the rectangular street fields. A player builds a road to a round local field, he can only build a next street behind the local field when he builds a settlement in this area.

Special and 3:1 trade

If a player has built a road on a red field road space, he may exchange resources with the bank, as indicated on the adjacent sign - so, either 3 identical commodities of any kind or two of the same raw materials depicted for one of any other commodity.

Raiders

The Robber starts the game on the grazing landscape west of Ajaccio.

VP intersections

During set-up, place a victory point chip from the Seafarers expansion (alternatively, a coin) at each intersection with a victory point symbol.

The first played to build to one of these victory point intersections with a road gets the chip (or coin), which is worth one victory point.

End of the Game

The first player to reach 13 victory points on their turn wins a three player game.

The first player to reach 12 victory point on their turn wins a four player game.

The rules for 5 and 6 Player

In addition to the above rules, the rules of 5/6 player expansion to the "Settlers of Catan" apply

Change from 3/4 player game: Victory point fields do not provide victory points - instead, they count as round local fields for settlement building.

The first player to reach 10 victory points on their turn wins a five or six player game.
