Pictionary Team Relay is a game where you get teammates to guess a clue not by using words, but by drawing it out on a pad of paper!

Component

  • 1 Disc Holder
  • 1 Timer (60 seconds)
  • 50 Discs
  • Instructions

Object of the Game

Your team will attempt to draw and guess FOUR clues in one minute. It's a relay because as your team guesses each clue, a NEW teammate draws the next clue, and so on.

If your team guesses all four clues correctly before time runs out, you win the disc. The first team to earn 5 discs wins!

Setup

Place the Disc Holder, Discs and Timer in the middle of the play area. Divide into teams. Provide each team with a pencil and drawing paper.

Each disc has 4 relays on it, 2 on each side. A relay consists of 1 category word and the 4 clues that relate to it.

Before the first team begins their relay, an OPPOSING team must load a disc into the Disc Holder:

Make sure the 2 category word spaces (with the white background) on the disc are positioned correctly.

Close the Disc Holder. A category word should appear in the window.

You're Ready to Play!

Game Play

The team that includes the youngest player goes first.

Decide which player will be drawing first for your team. Also, choose the order in which the rest of the players on your team will be drawing, because once the game gets going things move pretty fast!

The player who is drawing is called the Picturist.

The first Picturist announces the category out loud, and then turns the Disc Holder clockwise ONE CLICK to reveal the first clue to him or her self. The timer is then turned over and the Picturist then begins sketching while the rest of the team tries to guess the clue.

Remember: You do not draw the word in the category space. the category word (against a white background) is there to help your team guess the answers. Only draw the clues, which appear against a color background.

If the team correctly guesses the clue, the Picturist quickly passes the Disc Holder to the next person on the team to draw. That player turns the Disc Holder clockwise ONE CLICK to reveal the next clue and then begins drawing. This continues until either the team correctly guesses all 4 of the clues in the relay.

If the team correctly guesses all 4 clues before the timer runs out, they have earned that disc as a reward. They remove it and keep the disc, then put a new one in the Disc Holder for the next team.

If the team does NOT correctly guess all 4 clues before time runs out, they remove the disc and replace it with a new one for the next team's turn.

Remember: the team doing the relay cannot be the team that loads the disc into the disc holder.

If teams have less than 4 players, the same Picturist may draw more than once during the same relay, but not consecutively.

End of the Game

The first team to earn five discs WINS!
